Sworn translations and apostille
Many of Vertaalbureau Bothofs specialist legal translators are also sworn translators. A sworn translator is authorised to provide a certified, or sworn, translation. This is a translation certified by the translators concluding statement, signature and stamp. Foreign documents required for public registers (notarial deeds, documents issued by a registrar of births, marriages and deaths etc.) should in any event be translated by a sworn translator and certified in order to be recognised as official documents. For use abroad, Dutch documents of this kind should also be accompanied by an apostille. Vertaalbureau Bothof can take care of all these matters. The sworn translation (with or without an apostille), certification statement and source text are bound into a folder and are stamped with both the Vertaalbureau Bothof ink stamp and blind embossed stamp and sent to the customer by post or courier.
